This site describes one of the most ambitious projects that the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) has ever undertaken: the widening of a 20 mile segment of I-93 between Exits 1 and 5 from the Massachusetts Stateline to Manchester, NH. The overall goal of this project is simple: to make the I-93 corridor safer and to improve mobility.

I-93 is one of the state's principal arterials and is critical to the economic vitality of the state, region and local communities. Accordingly, after carefully reviewing several alternatives and their environmental, social, economic and cultural impacts on the southeastern New Hampshire region, NHDOT and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) are moving ahead to reconstruct and widen I-93 to safely and efficiently meet the mobility needs of New Hampshire, now and in the future. less
